Shooting in Boston has undoubtedly made me a better photographer. The neighborhoods, the river, the harbor, the architecture, the seasons, the parks and an unending stream of amazing clients have made my home town a ripe harvest ground of unforgettable photo sessions. As March rolls around, I’m itching to get back outside and take more portraits around town. In the meantime, let’s review what I’ve loved so far.

What I like most about this city is you can go for pretty much any look you want, from any neighborhood, really quickly. It’s such a small place, and that means the sun is never really out of reach, and that allows for spontaneous, dramatic and fun shots. Walking from Beacon Hill to the Public Gardens to the banks of the Charles river takes about 10 minutes, and those are three totally different environments. Go from Rowes Wharf to the North End to Charlestown in the same amount of time. The combinations are so varied that your portrait sessions can be really unique.

Boston has a charm that only a small, old American city can offer. This summer, I really want to use more of the Rose Kennedy Parkway, more water taxis, the Cambridge side of the river and the sea port area. Get in touch with me and let me know where you’d like to have your portraits taken in your favorite part of our favorite city.

It’s 2012! We did it! Good work everyone, we made it to this year. Graham Winslow Photography is looking at this bright future with a fresh face, new-everything and I want you all to be a part of it. This webpage has been a long time coming and I’m really excited about it as a tool to connect my photography to you in new ways. The blog is built in so you don’t waste clicks and browser windows and time, and I have a lot of exciting plans for it. I’m going to post about jobs, as well as mini articles on subjects like venues, details and photo ideas. Also, I want to use this as a place to show you photos that I really love, and I’m going to tell you the story behind them and how they came about. In the meantime, have a poke around and get in touch! I want to hear from you and be pals. Let’s do it.
